How to become a Life Insurance Agent: Provincial regulators require applicants for a Life Insurance Agent license to (a) complete a self-study Life License Qualifying Program (LLQP) course from a certified content provider and (b) pass both a certifying and a provincial exam. Upon successful completion of the certifying exam, the applicant will receive a certificate of completion that must be presented to the appropriate provincial regulator in order to write the life insurance licensing exam.
